Swing Gate Opener Installation Guide
This guide provides a general installation procedure for electric swing gate openers. It is suitable for most residential and light commercial gate automation systems, including single-leaf and double-leaf swing gates.
Proper installation ensures safe operation, stable performance, and long service life of the gate automation system.

A typical swing gate opener system includes the following main components:
· Motor Unit (Actuator) – Drives the opening and closing movement of the gate
· Rear Mounting Bracket (Post Bracket) – Fixed on the gate post or pillar
· Front Mounting Bracket (Gate Bracket) – Fixed on the gate leaf
· Drive Arm / Telescopic Arm – Connects the motor to the gate structure
· Control Unit (Control Box) – Manages motor operation and safety functions
· Power Cable – Supplies electrical power to the system
These components work together to convert motor force into controlled and stable gate movement.
Before installation, ensure the following conditions are met:
· The gate moves smoothly in manual operation without resistance or jamming
· Hinges are properly aligned and securely fixed
· The gate structure is stable and free from deformation
· Suitable power supply is available (typically 220V AC or 24V DC systems)
· Required tools are prepared (drill, wrench, level gauge, fasteners, etc.)
Important: A poorly balanced gate will significantly reduce motor performance and lifespan.
Fix the rear bracket onto the gate post or pillar.
Ensure:
· The bracket is perfectly level
· Alignment matches the gate hinge axis
· The bracket is firmly secured using bolts or welding
Attach the front bracket to the gate leaf.
Ensure:
· Correct positioning based on the desired opening angle
· No obstruction during gate movement
· Proper alignment with the rear bracket
Connect the drive arm between the two brackets:
· One end connects to the rear bracket (post side)
· The other end connects to the front bracket (gate side)
Make sure all pins, bolts, and locking clips are fully secured and tightened.
Mount the motor onto the drive arm system.
Check the following:
· Motor is installed in the correct opening direction
· Movement is smooth without mechanical interference
· All joints are properly locked and fixed
Most swing gate openers include a manual release system for emergency or maintenance use.
This function is essential during power failure or system maintenance.
Connect the system according to the control unit wiring diagram.
Ensure:
· Correct voltage compatibility
· Secure grounding connection
· Waterproof protection for outdoor installations
· Proper connection between motor, control board, and accessories
Optional accessories may include:
· Safety photocells (anti-pinch sensors)
· Remote control receiver
· Keypad or access control system
· Warning light system
After installation:
· Power on the system and test operation
· Verify correct opening and closing direction
· Adjust travel limits (mechanical or electronic)
· Ensure smooth and quiet operation
· Test safety features such as obstacle detection (if available)
· Do not operate the system if the gate is unstable or misaligned
· Ensure all mounting points are tightly secured
· Keep the gate movement area clear during operation
· Regularly inspect brackets, arms, and motor connections
· Follow all local electrical safety regulations
A swing gate opener system provides reliable automation when installed correctly. Proper alignment, secure mounting, and correct electrical wiring are essential for safe, stable, and long-term operation.
For best performance and safety, professional installation is strongly recommended.
